Digital Story

Welcome back!

Prior to our well-deserved spring break, we were working on our Digital Storytelling projects.  Many of you were able to complete them - some of you were not.  If you still need to record your audio, you must do so during this class period.  If you have problems, find someone to help you troubleshoot - no excuses!

If you finished the project before break, I would like for you to create the same project but this time using Movie Maker instead of PhotoStory.  Movie Maker should already be installed on your computer.  If it isn't, please download a free version.  (Make sure to check the C: drive, Program Files folder before you download!)  Once you've finished this project, I would like for you to comment on this blog and tell me which software you liked best and why.  Your "why" must be supported by at least three specific examples.

I know which software I like best and I look forward to reading your responses!

    1. I like Photostory better because you do not have to edit the duration of time the picture is up, you do not have to use audacity to record and everything is plain and simple to find.

  5. I like Movie Maker better because:
    1. I've used it before, so I knew what to do
    2. If you don't know what to do, the list of instructions is on the left side, and
    3. It's just a lot simpler to arrange and set up.

  6. I liked PhotoStory better because it was organized better and easier to use. For example it was easier to upload pictures and put them in the right order. It was also easier to add music. And it was easier to record your voice.

  9. I believe that Photostory was much more easier to use than Movie Maker. On Movie Maker, you had to figure out the direct steps to make it. On Photostory, it was much easier giving everything in order.

  10. I perfer the program MovieMaker because you can import all the pictures at once, add "better" video effects, and color effects, you can add easy music, and the layout of the program is so much simplier in many ways. I wwould actually think it would make it easier in the future to totally get rid of StoryTelling program and just use MovieMaker instead. Thank you for the option of commenting on this project.

  12. I like the program MovieMaker better than Photo Story 3. I like it more because it was easier to import the pictures onto the slides, and to put the audio on the slides and seperate them. It is very easy to edit the slides to fade/slide in/ checker out.

  13. I like Photo Story 3 better than Movie Maker. Photo Story has a more logical and simple order. It was harder to add effects and transitions in Movie Maker. The interface for Photo Story was a lot more simple, Movie Maker threw it all at you at the same time.

  14. I liked photo story alot better then movie play. I had mayn problems trying to record the voice. I do like that you could slide the powerpoints slides. For the phote story i could put my music onto the background. :)

  15. Personally, I didn't like the program MovieMaker or Photo Story 3. Neither one of the programs would record my audio.

  16. I liked MovieMaker much more than Photo Story for a few reasons. It allowed you to be much more creative with transistions and such. It was a lot easier to use and had clear directions. It made a cleaner looking video and gave you the options to make it more precise.

  19. I like did not like either program too much because it was difficult to import audio, but it was easier to import it on Photo Story, so that is probably the one that like better.
